Is it Worth it!?
If you haven’t seen the Worth It series from Buzzfeed, you have a long binging session ahead of you. Join Steven, Andrew and Adam as they compare three different levels of the same food item at three different price points. In this episode, the gang is joined by Buzzfeed producer Rie in Japan as they compare three different levels of coffee.
The first restaurant, R.O.Star, has a passion for coffee and provides an iced coffee for $1 USD. In order to provide their customers with such inexpensive, high quality coffee, R.O.Star imports green beans from South America and roasts them in house.
The middle restaurant, Coffee Elementary School, showcases the love a man has for coffee. You can tell that the owner loves everything coffee so much and it reflects in his coffee. He makes the gang a pour over cup of coffee through a Hario V60 in a special hand-made mug. For $4 USD, you can have your own lesson at the Coffee Elementary School.
The last and most expensive restaurant, The Munch, has a cup of coffee for $914 USD. The owner ages the coffee in small barrels, similar to how alcohol is aged, anywhere from 10 to 20 years. The beans are ground and put through a net drip to extract as much coffee flavour as possible. And the presentation of the coffee! This is definitely a bucket-list item.
Check out which restaurant they thought was the most worth it! Also with these coffee facts, I think we can classify this as educational programing.
