Humbleside Market
We are very thankful for everyone that came out and supported us at the Ambleside Market! We are humbled by the response to our coffee! We will be using the money we made at these markets to reinvesting into the business and back into the community.
During our stay at the markets we met some great vendors that are doing some amazing things out there. We are floored by the absolute talent that is out there and we are proud to have stood next to you in the rain. Some special mentions are:
Toon’s Sauces - We had to start with the friendly faces we met at the Shipyards Night Market; Toon’s Sauces. The folks at Toon’s Sauces are taking over my fridge by storm, especially the Chipotle sauce. As a self-proclaimed sauce-expert; trust me, you need to get try these sauces immediately. I eat mine with Cavandish Wedge Fries and watch Seinfeld like I am in 1999.
Whistler Harvest - We had the pleasure of meeting Craig from Winter Harvest when our booths were next to each other the second weekend into the market. Unlike a forger, I will let you the secret place to get the best mushrooms: it’s Whistler Harvest. I made a miso soup with their dried Porcini mushrooms as well as the mushroom powder. If there are people out there that know more about mushrooms, I do not want to meet them.
Glasea - Glasea has some of the most creative glass art we have ever seen! Mona is the reason we even got a chance at the Ambleside Market and are very thankful. Always chipper and bubbly, we had nothing but great times with Glasea! We bought a gummy bear necklace for our niece which she wears when she wants to look cool.
Two Brothers Toffee - After discovering Two Brothers Toffee, I found that I had cheat days a lot more frequently. I blame Melissa and the rest of the crew for getting us hooked on the good stuff by dropping off samples to our booth. Five bags later and our whole family is still itching for more. Trust me, you will not be eating this, you will be inhaling it. If you haven’t had the Milk Toffee, you need to stop reading the rest of this until you buy a bag.
Fresh Bark - If you have a dog, you need to visit the folks at Fresh Bark. Their dog treats are such high quality and would be such a great way of telling your best friend how you feel about them. Not to mention, the couple that runs Fresh Bark are pretty high quality themselves!
Blackberry Hill - You will walk by Blackberry Hill pretending you didn’t just see a table full of freshly baked goods. You will try to stick to your diet and not buy the lemon square that call your name. But you will give in and you will not regret anything. Blackberry Hill brings some of the best bites in the freshly baked game.
Isabella Ellis Studios - We met Isabella at the Shipyards Market. Teacher by day and a very creative artist by night! I bought the greatest bat earrings for my wife for Halloween and she loved them. Even if you don’t have your ears pierced, go see Isabella and have your ears filled with great conversation.
Mika Boutique - We got the pleasure to be vendor neighbours with Mika Boutique for a couple of weekends at the Market and they were nothing but supportive. They would both show up with smiles on their faces even in the gloomiest weather. They have some of the highest quality hand-crafted leather work, walking sticks, and jewelry. I have my eye on the cobra walking stick, it would be perfect for my dad!
Craft Mountain Bakery - Have you ever walked into a Subway just for the smell of it? Well wait until you walk by an actual bakery table. We were drawn in when we were vendor neighbours with Astrid. She makes the most amazing breads and rolls right at home. As soon as I saw the sourdough loaf, I knew I had to have one. I ended up slicing it, spreading a garlic and parsley compound vegan butter on it, sprinkling it with cheese, and putting it in the oven. This was a week ago and people are still texting me about how good it was. Secret ingredient? Craft Mountain Bakery.
Noisy Boys Apparel - What do you get when you put two moms and trendy clothing together? You get Noisy Boys Apparel! The quality of clothing speaks for itself and we are considering purchasing a bunch of toques from them. If you aren’t in the market for new clothing, reach out to them and they can help you find the right conversation to fit your every need.
Mila Earth Bodycare - We had the pleasure of working with Katerina and her daughter every week. They were out there selling skin care, natural cosmetics, and magnesium chloride. We used the excuse of coffee to spend countless hours talking with Katerina about her experiences and aspirations. I used the magnesium chloride spray as a topical for inflammation and it worked quite well to help my muscles relax after the gym!
Amliora Designs - We met Liora and Jake just this last weekend but we hit it off right away. Jake gained my respect as soon as he dropped 5C in a sentence while we were talking about where we grew up. We spoke about the coffee scene and what it was like growing up in Richmond. Liora had a great attitude and was proud of her resin art, jewelry, and fashion accessories!
Betty Boucas - Last but not least we wanted to thank Betty for having us at the markets every weekend. We loved having the quick conversations with Betty during the market, even though a lot of the conversations were about my wife rather than about us… We are so thankful to be able to server our coffee and meet the wonderful vendors, and the rest of the great people in Ambleside! We would work together again with Betty anytime.
Hopefully we will get to see everyone again soon!
All the best,
Signed,
